Yoga & Meditation

Connie Cudnohowski, RYT

My Background
I have practiced yoga for 7 years; and have been teaching asanas (postures) for the past two years. I take classes and workshops to enhance my yogic knowledge; some recent examples include Yin yoga styles as well as therapeutic applications.  I continue to integrate methodologies which help students develop body awareness. My daily practice continues to evolve allowing me to bring further insights to my students.

In 2007, I completed Yoga Alliance's 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) Certification teacher training with Deborah Koehn of Yoga Adventure in
Kona, Hawaii. I have practiced Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga under PJ Heffernan of Heffernan Wellness Center, Waukesha, WI for about 4 1/2 years. My yoga practice has evolved with PJ providing a needed structure and discipline and with Deborah helping me to develop a greater understanding of how energy flows and our connection with nature.  I've integrated their influences along with others in my teaching style.

I feel yoga is a way I can assist in slowing down a piece of my and my students world; one hour at a time. My hope for you, is that you are able to integrate the presence of yoga into your daily life allowing 'practice' to become more than your time on the mat.

Instruction Approach
I come from a conservative, process oriented background. (15 years in Banking and Finance Auditing). My yoga approach is focused on creating a program that will work for you in a home practice. I employ a multidisciplinary approach, modifying poses based on your needs. I focus on breath work; as this is the power that moves you through a session.

Be Present
I encourage each individual to accept where their body is today. You cannot be someplace else at this moment in time; so lets forget what we were yesterday and where we want to be tomorrow and spend an hour right where we are, enhancing our body, mind and spirit. Once you develop a regular practice, it allows you to meditate while exercising. The rhythm and flow of the postures allows you to be present in the moment. I feel that this serenity can carry over into the rest of your life.

Sense of Wonder
The name Sense of Wonder comes from my inherent curiosity about life. I sometimes think I wonder more than a four year old. I think Yoga is an excellent way to explore that curiosity as it is an ongoing process of self discovery and growth.

It is important to find an instructor that meshes well with your personality.  If you are curious about yoga, give me a call and let’s see if we can find a yoga practice that works for you.

Namaste,

Connie
